Soho is the most exciting
of London's villages.
Home to over 4,000
residents, it is the centre of
the British film and theatre
business and many historic
restaurants and pubs.
Bordered by Oxford Street,
Regent Street, Shaftesbury
Avenue and Charing Cross
Road, Soho has a thriving
night scene. Newcomers
to the area invariably see
it as a clubbing and
drinking venue, but there
is much more to the area.
The aim of the Soho action
plan is to help the area
achieve its full potential.
and at the same
time preserve Soho's
unique character
In 2006 the council
consulted on the draft
Soho Action Plan. This
was written with the help
of the Soho Contact
Group - a group of
representatives from
the local Soho community.
It sets out a shared vision
for the area's future.
Now approved by the
cabinet The Soho Action
Plan will aim to deliver
over 80 initiatives,
including the regeneration
of Berwick Street, Ham
Yard and Great Windmill
Street.The projects aim
to address resident
concerns, improve
community facilities
and support small
independent businesses
and the creative
industries in the area.
Fudge will work alongside
Westminster City Council
and the Soho Contact
Group in communicating
to key stakeholders,
residents, businesses,
community leaders and
chief executives the aims
and objectives of the plan.
